Saturday, April 7, 2017, the Citrus Horticulture Academy participated in the annual Porterville Celebrates Reading fair at Veteran's Park. Students of all ages were educated about companion planting and starting gardens at home. Each student was encouraged to plant a bean plant and listen the the story Three Sisters Garden based on an old Native American Tale. The weather was dicey in the morning, but it turned out to be a beautiful day and fun was had by all. Good job Mr. Hess, Mrs. Shaffer, Vanessa Corona, Katrina Castillo, and Marco Bustos.
